Tis the Season to be Merry

The holiday season is in full swing and as I frantically try to find just the right gifts for family and friends, I am finding that I end up buying a lot of stuff for myself.  I mean the deals are incredible during the holidays and there seems to be a greater variety by far than in the regular season.  “Tis the season to be merry” after all and it makes me very, very merry to get awesome deals.  I mean…maybe I don’t really need anything, but some deals are just too good to pass up!

Admittedly, in this season of giving, I do feel a little guilty “gifting” myself but WARNING…if you think this blog post is going to be about how to curtail your self-indulgence then you should probably stop reading immediately.  Honestly, why not spoil yourself a little!

This year, the online deal sites are churning out a nonstop smorgasbord of savings by allowing customer to stack coupons and use them on already discounted products, especially clothing.  The key is to think ahead to the next season and buy accordingly…remember a gorgeous red dress that’s perfect for the office holiday party will also stun on a Valentine’s Day dinner out.Make the savings count by capitalizing on deals with an eye toward upcoming events beyond the holidays.

One area in which really great deals can be found is on products that are not typical “gift items”.  Think of the items that are invisible such as personal care products like tooth whitening kits, anti-aging gadgets or potions, solution items like breast lift tape or nipple covers or even adult “play” products are often offered at really reduced prices during the holidays.  These practical items are going to get used and enjoyed, even though they aren’t necessarily the type of gift that you want to open in front of the family on Christmas morning.  The companies who make these “non-gift items” offer fantastic year-end holiday savings that can’t be beat and if you take advantage of the savings now, you will have everything you need to look and feel your best all year long!

Another great way to spoil yourself is buying discounted spa and beauty treatments. Yesterday, I bought a 60- minute massage for $30 on Group on (after the stacked discount) that I can’t wait to use…after all, the holiday season is stressful, and I need to unwind. One last thing…don’t forget to sign up on cash back sites like Honey or Rakuten. They alert you to the best deals and pay you cash back for purchases online or in-stores.  Whatever you do this season, please remember to put yourself on your holiday gift list…at least you’ll know that the receiver will really love what you give her!
